Amit Shah responds to what the Opposition said about reservation and the constitution: "If we needed to..."

Union home minister Amit Shah rejected allegations of potential Constitution amendments by the government, emphasizing that the BJP has not manipulated its parliamentary majority.

During an interview with NDTV, Shah stated, “If there was a need to alter the Constitution, we would have acted previously.”

“We haven’t abused the majority we’ve held for a decade. The Congress is known for misusing its majority, not us,” he expressed.

In response to concerns from the opposition that the BJP might eliminate reservation policies upon returning to power, Shah affirmed that the Narendra Modi administration is committed to preserving it untouched.

“We won’t alter the reservation policy, and we won’t allow others to do so,” he declared.

Shah also criticized the Congress party for the comments made by former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel following a significant anti-Maoist operation in the Bastar region.

“Bhupesh Baghel, as a former Chief Minister, speaks after careful consideration. We cannot ignore his insights from his sources. Since the BJP government assumed power, there have been numerous instances of villagers being casualties in purported anti-Naxal operations,” Baij quoted ANI as stating.

Amit Shah strongly censured the statements and highlighted that anti-Maoist efforts were not prioritized during the Congress regime. He further assured that his administration is committed to eradicating Naxalism from the nation.
