The India Institute of Medical (AIIMS)
It has changed its decision to close non-critical services until 2.30 pm tomorrow for the Ayodhya Ram Temple event after facing strong criticism from opposition leaders. Initially, the premier healthcare facility had announced a half-day break for staff in non-critical services, raising worries about Out Patient department  (OPD) services and access to specialists during the break.
An administrative officer at AIIMS-Delhi, Rajesh Kumar, issued a note raising to the central government’s announcement of a half-day of for government employees. The note stated that the institute would remain closed until 2.30 pm on the specified date, with critical clinical services still operating.
This notification was met with common criticism as patients often suffer long waits to secure appointments at AIIMS. The sudden closure of OPD services would cause significant inconvenience, particularly for patients who have traveled from outside Delhi in search of accessible and affordable healthcare.
AIIMS-Delhi issued a new notice in response to the response, reassuring patients that the OPD would remain open to accommodate appointments to avoid any inconvenience and ensure proper patient care.
Another prominent healthcare facility in New Delhi, Safdarjung Hospital, announced that registered patients would receive treatment and that OPD registration would take place between 8 and 10 a.m. Drug store administrations would be accessible until early afternoon, yet elective medical procedures wouldn’t be led.
AIIMS confronted solid analysis from resistance pioneers about the half-sunrise. Priyanka Chaturvedi, a member of the Rajya Sabha and leader of the Shiv Sena, made sarcastic remarks about the situation and expressed concern regarding the possibility of medical emergencies occurring during the designated break. Saket Gokhale, a Trinamool Congress MP, likewise communicated dissatisfaction, featuring the predicament of individuals hanging tight for arrangements at AIIMS and blaming the public authority for focusing on optics over resident government assistance.
The focal government’s choice to concede government workers half-day leave was made to permit them to watch the live broadcast of the pran pratishta function in Ayodhya. On the same day, several states have also announced half-day or full-day leave for educational institutions and government offices.
